What does everyone use for there foaling cameras. Prefer one that I can check from my iPhone. The cheaper the better. TIA

Following this one! I don't expect any foals, just wonder what my horse does to hurt himself all the time.

We use foal alerts.  Get a lot more sleep that way.

We just put up Foscam cameras. We can check from anywhere on our phones and on our computers. Works great! So far we are 100 percent catching the births of the foals. My daughter in Sweden, and my husband when at work in Scotland, watch after midnight! My step son did his homework buying these and setting them up. Hope this helps.

I've seen ones that get sewn up on them too. That just seems painful.

Its a transmitter with a magnet that is placed with sutures in the vulva using lidocaine to numb the area of course when the mare begins to foal the magnet pulls from the transmitter setting off an alarm in our barn and calling everyone's cell phone.

I'm not so much worried about missing sleep. I want to be able to check them while I am at work. I have heard with some older mares the alarm can go off even if they just lay down and their vulva opens a little. I can't run home every time one of decides to lay down lol.

It has to actually separate the magnet from the transmitter so I don't see their vulva pulling it apart by just laying down but who knows. If you're mostly concerned about it while your away id go for video surveillance types.
