| Trying to upload. Top is a few weeks ago. Bottom is this morning. We have been doing a ton of long and low and extending and shortening stride.

| lol yes, I did not put the horse in the same spot for the picture this morning. Oh well, I was just hoping someone saw something I didn't. It takes a long time for topline and muscling. I'm just inpatient. |

Location: EDGE OF INSANITY | I have a horse that had stifle issues-he wasn't using his body correctly so his topline looked terrible. Really terrible. I got his problem taken care of, but it has been 9 months, and i'm just now really starting to see an improvement. And i have done everything i could think of to build up those muscles-hills, collection, cavalettis, you name it we did it lol. Give it time, it won't happen overnight. Good luck |

| If you are wanting to develop his topline I would take some time to read up on all the muscles the horse uses to carry the rider.
A topline does not happen in 30 days, but takes years to develop through proper training techniques.
Think about the spanish riding school, those horses take years to achieve collection which is a step process. A good topline is developed as you work towards collection, which is probably one of the most misunderstood terms in riding and training.
I am by no means an expert, I still have so much more to learn, but I am addicted to educating myself on it. Honestly, collection seems like it is a lifetime learning process.

| 2 yrs ago feeding purina ultium our aged gelding had a nice top line but when that feed went near $40 bucks for one bag for him we couldn't do it anymore. The top line just never filed back in with any other feed no joke, no supplement combo anything. No change in conditioning either. This past summer he was on a decent feed program and walker/ponying and we really focused on trying to build his top line through other specific exercises.
At the start of the fall we switched to alfalfa and oats feed with clovite and dical phosphate added, his top line filled back out and he is looking better than ever at HALF the price.
We were thinking it was a conditioning and age problem but turns out it must have been the feed program because everyone in barn started to bloom and muscle up more. |
