| My mare has it, I haven't had her tested yet but you cant tell me she doesn't have it lol. Originally I had wanted to put her on Ultium but the NSC was still too high for her. I also tried beet pulp but she tied up on it and that was the only change to her diet. Then I tried the soaked alfalfa cube diet with the oil but she wouldn't eat it. SO I put her on Triple Crown Lite, it has lower NSC than their TC Low Starch. Per day she gets 4-5 pounds TC Lite, 3000-5000IU Vit. E, DMG, flax seed, 2 cups of coconut soy or canola oil, and Epsom salts. I was skeptical of using Epsom salts(Magnesium Sulfate) but I wanted to try it until I buy some Magnesium Oxide. I have seen huge improvements in her muscles since being on this diet. Before her muscles would be rock hard and now they are soft. Overall her attitude is better and she looks awesome! I also try to keep her out 24/7 but she might come in for a couple of hours to eat. Good luck with your horse!

Location: Sunnyland Florida | Low starch feed, such as Seminole's Perform Safe. You have to watch it, there are a lot of "controlled starch" feeds out there that are not 'low' starch. No or very little coastal hay (sugar content too high). Timothy hay is best, then Alfalfa, then Orchard.
Daily exercise is imperative for PSSM horses.
I've followed this for one of mine and the problem vanished.
