| Does anyone have experience with Eye Soar colts? I am considering breeding my dash for cash mare to him. I have always wanted a mr eye opener colt. I haven't had much luck in finding many breeding options though. Any input is very much appreciated. |

Location: Kansas | I really really like him, and the ones I've been around at jackpots had a nice mind on them. But MEO horses do have a tendency to be hott, so cross on a quiet mare. |

He was crossed on a Dashin Elvis daughter that was cow bred on the bottom and super quiet. This filly has almost been too easy. She is very calm and doesn't get worked up about anything. Takes everything in stride and has never offered to do anything stupid. Once in a while if she is fresh she will attempt to "buck" by hopping in the air. She is a little behind because she is little and we have been giving her time to grow. I started her on the pattern last year and she took to them very well. I am pregnant now, so my SO just started riding again after winter and roping the dummy on her. After the baby comes, I plan to get her back going and shooting for some of our local futurities next year.
My MIL also has a 3yo gelding by him out of a cow bred mare that is nice. She had sent him of to be broke last year for 30 days. He was good about everything, but could be a little timid. Never offered to do anything or was hot, just needed some time with certain things.
This is my filly. I was hoping for some color, but no go. She has no white on her anywhere.

| Thanks for the input! I have found a few sorrel sons of MEO, but I really like the build of this guy and the fact that he has color. I have a dash for cash/tb mare. I am crossing my fingers on it not being too hot. She has produced really level headed colts, so I hope this works in my favor. |

I am a dummy when it comes to color, but I don't think he carries that gene that guarantees it. My mare was a bay and I got a bay. My MIL's mare was a sorrel and she got a gray, so it is a crapshoot. |

| I found a 80year old guy that was to elderly to care for his horses he had a double bred MEO 5 year old filly left in a field wasn't even halter broke. She looked just like MEO she was so so level headed and easy for a horse that was never handled. The only horse that was on her papers with a SI under 90 was her for obvious reasons. Black type all the way. The only thing I didn't like about her was she was so extreme fine boned and a little over the knee. Probably a 0/00shoe on a 15.3 frame
Unfortunately the years of bad hoof care and bad nutrition had taken its toll and brining her back was really shaky so she was sold. If I would have found her 2 years ago I would still have her. Once in a lifetime breeding on her papers at least for me. She also had 2 full siblings that were Big 1D horses.

I think MEO gets a bad wrap because there such high powered fast horses they can be intimidating but if you have a quiet training style they will burn up everything. I do agree with most that say they are slow to mature physically though the ones I have seen that are own sons and daughters don't really bloom till almost 6

We have owned Atticus since he was a 3 yo (now 7) http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/atticus+fench We don't get to haul very consistently but he has been running in the 2D at shows with 200+ entries. Has won a few local races. He is super athletic and very smart. Very friendly, always the first horse to come up and say hi to you. He has a very mellow personality...not much bothers him. For everyday riding he just requires a hackamore. However, he does strong when ready to run.
