Does anyone remeber the post on here a while back that came from Facebook about how we should all be uplifting and more positive in our sport? I believe it was Fallon Taylor who posted it.
Well, I was trying to find it again. I felt like it was so "on point".
Does anyone else feel that barrel racing is becoming too cutthroat? Why do we always point out others flaws rather than good things?

Some people are just insecure and that's why. Others think they know it all and don't know what it's like to struggle or do without and that's why. And others think they're the golden child and think they're entitled. Lots of reasons...
There's folks out there that don't have a lot of nice things to say about Fallon Taylor too. But she's done a good job of taking the time and effort to connect directly with regular people and that makes an impact I think. And I have to say, breaking your neck has a way of changing a person - so she may not be the same girl she was when she was younger.
It's not just barrel racing. It's the horse industry in general - and it's not just young people either.
My last post on Cowgirls With Curves was on this exact of thing -
http://cowgirlswithcurves.com/
We have a tendency, especially in the horse industry, to count plus size riders out
(and those that don't have the best horses, etc
) when the rest of the world is changing their tune.
My training blog has hit on this a time or two as well - Musings From The Leadrope -
https://qheventer.wordpress.com/
I hope that it changes, but I doubt it will. It takes hard times a lot of times to make a person change their outlook.

If you think horse people are bad you should listen to kids in athletics and their parents and grandparents! Actually it's society as a whole.
