Location: Iowa | What is everyones "must haves to pack" for their living quarters horse trailer? This summer is the first year I will be going down the road by myself because I have always had my college rodeo buddies or parents to haul with.

| do you mean like if you were shopping for a trailer to haul or like items to pack to make it easier in the trailer you have? | |

Location: Oklahoma | I always take a mesh laundry bag to put dirty boots/polos in. Extra halters, leads, etc. I take vet wrap, sterile sheet cotton, banamine, etc for first aid. Also a couple extra days worth of feed for the horses. For me, I take humus/carrots/pretzels etc. | |

| For horses - aside from the obvious tack:
Feed/hay, plus enough for 2-3 extra days just in case! I portion grain for each feeding into big Ziploc bags so I don't have to drag a whole bag of grain. Hay bags, water buckets, and bucket straps to hang them.
Extra halter/lead rope
Extra headstall, reins, curb chain, latigo and off-billet
First aid kit - the Equimedic ones are awesome. I don't sell them, nor am I sponsored by them, I just think they're fabulous. I add a few things into mine as needed - bute, banamine, a stethoscope, etc. Diapers are also great to keep in there for bandaging purposes.
Manure fork/muck bucket
Fan and extension cords for stalls in the summer
For people:
Dirty clothes bag
Folding table/chairs
Umbrella
Mini grill and propane
Metal spatula and tongs for use with the grill
Fire extinguisher
Pillows and blankets or sleeping bags
Jackets and raincoats
Cap for hat hair :)
Rubber boots
Keurig!!! I use mine to make coffee or hot water for tea or instant oatmeal
Paper plates and bowls, solo cups, plastic utensils
Rug for outside the trailer door
Cord for trailer if yours isn't built in, plus adapter end for different types of camper plug ins
Cooler for food - if you transfer your food into the fridge, then use the cooler for keeping drinks and water cold
Flashlight
Mirror
If it's going to be cold at night, I put my heated mattress pad on the bed :)
For truck/trailer:
Jumper cables
Drive-on type ramp/jack for changing trailer tires
Tire iron
Toolbox with pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, hammer, etc.
Duct tape | |
