| During the 2003 NFR, Jackie (Dube at the time) had set up barrels in previous rounds to win. The announcer started calling her "THE WILD CHILD" and it stuck. I think its awesome. Attaching a video for your viewing pleasure (gives me chills). The girl rocks! She also said in an interview she had stopped counting at 99 saddles won, some 400 buckles, 11 horse trailers and a truck!

hlynn - 2015-02-25 8:03 PM She's aggressive. She will do anything to keep one up. She was the one with the bright and crazy outfits before Fallon was even a thought. Lol. She explains it in her winningRuns DVD
I can't remember if Fallon wore wild outfits when she qualified for the NFR years ago when she was a kid before they changed the WPRA age limit.Â
I'm not sure. I just know Jackie & Tammy both had the fringe and bright colors on lock when they were competing. Lol
When Fallon first went to the NFR (in the mid 90s) it was still required that you wear colored pants. So it wasn't quite as "wild" to see someone in yellow, green, purple or even silver and black patent leather pants. (Come on, I know some of you still have your Lawman black pants stuffed away in a closet somewhere!). Many people had the same color pants and shirt when they ran. Or remember when the Martha Josey puffy sleeves were a big thing?! When they did change the rule to allow regular blue jeans to be worn, then the shirts started getting a little more wild with the fringe and such. Martha Josey wore fringe when she went back to the NFR in 98 I believe. Fringe seemed to be very "in" during the late 90s, early 2000s. |
