Because, I go through them so fast. The plastic near the phone end of the charger breaks easily and the wires become frayed. I guess they are cheaply made??? I, also, need a longer cord any suggestions?

It's so irritating. We have 5ish too and they are positional, etc.

What type of phone? The newer iPhone chargers suck (the 5's), I have had old ones for years and still have the first one... the new ones I have went through 2.

Dean is hard on his phones and chargers but is using an older blackberry charger for his Samsung and it has held up quite well.

We have the Samsung charger and a bunch of Wal mart ones. I honestly can't tell you which are which, they all are crappy.

I swiped one of my brothers old blackberry chargers to charge my kindle fire (theirs was horrible and it wouldn't charge if you were using it) and Dean is using that one. It's holding up well and charges them faster it seems. My brothers kitten chewed on the ends when he was little and it still works.

I'll check them out. I'd pay for a good one. Heck, it would be better than buying a new crappy one every few months.

You could try wrapping the ends that usually break/fray in electrician's tape right away to prevent it from happening. I've never broke one but that might work.

Phone chargers are a racket. While we were on the road this last weekend my phone stopped charging, I assumed it was the charger as it was frayed at both ends. Got home found two more chargers, neither of them worked. I assumed my phone had a bad battery. I took it in to AT&T and they charged it with no stinking problem. I still am baffled how 3 **** chargers could stop working all at the same time!

I have had good luck with the ones from Walgreens. The colored ones by the register. The crap from ebay breaks right away.

I still have the both of the original chargers (car and home) that came with my now very outdated 4 year old iPhone. Guess I'm gentle on my chargers. ;)

You can buy extra cords from Amazon for something around $10 for 10 or something like that.  I buy the rugged cords.  Keep in mind if you keep them pluged in all the time in your car it might be a fuse and not the charger.  If I'm not charging I take it out of the 12V in the car as well, seems like after I started taking it out when not charging I quit going through fuses and what not.

Sometimes the dollar stores have them.If you need juice on the move...try the out side battery chargers. They come in lipstick sizes that plug into the bottom of your phone or the bean a little larger with the cord that folds back into itself.if you have a few of these you can always be plugged in.Google phone accesories.or portable battery chargers. Outfitter cellular .com has those colored ones for less than $3.
