| I was wondering who all pulls a LQ trailer with a newer dodge 2500 (2013 or newer)? I know LQ trailers all have different weights. I'm just trying to get an average. I have a 4 horse aluminum slant LQ trailer. I was wondering if that truck would be enough to pull my trailer. And the trucks specs says max trailer weight is 16,920. Thanks!

| If that is your empty weight, there are no tires that will be rated for the weight.
My trailer is 10,000lbs empty and I am barley legal fully loaded with a 3500 dually |

Location: MN | The biggest factor isn't what you can pull, but what you can safely stop. When I've had a LQ (both 3 and 4 horse) in the past I pulled with a 3500 and wouldn't have been comfortable with anything less. |

| Just wondering why you are leaning towards a 2500. If they are actually significantly less in price, I would be surprised. With safety being the biggest concern, I believe I would go with the 3500. Like others said, stopping is an issue. A dually can help keep you on the road in the event of a blowout. |

| I would agree with the other posters............this is NOT enough truck for the trailer. After pulling with a dually I would never go back...... |

| I pull a 2014 Sooner 4 horse with a 9 foot SW fully loaded with a 2014 2500 Dodge Cummins. I have no issues either. |

| I have a 4 horse valley steel with a lq and we pull it with a 2500 dodge. It did squat the truck but then we put airbags on it and that made a huge difference. We go all over with it and have had no problems at all. Obviously you will want your trailer breaks to be working on anything you are pulling. |

Location: MN | Can it be done - yes. You can certinaly pull the load but are putting high wear on the truck. I'd personally rather just pay a bit more for a bigger truck than replace a engine or transmission. However the big priority is safety in stopping. There isn't much of a safety risk to get rolling and pull, but if you had to stop urgently the trailer is going to overrun the truck regardless of your breaking system and tires. |

| I do. We did have to put better tires on. No problems stopping, the truck came with trailer brakes. My biggest issue is that 12 mpg with the 2013. I get better mileage with my 2000 Dodge 2500. |
