My horse is eating rocks and dirt. What is he lacking? What should I give him?

That's a condition called pica. I would offer a complete vitamin and mineral supplement. Plus leave hay in front of the horse 24-7. I load up a huge slow feed hay net of orchard before i leave in the morning.

Give him some psyllium as well to clear any dirt and sand out of his gut. Sand colic is no joke.

I would make sure there are mineral, salt and sulfur blocks available 24/7 but you should probably pull blood to see what he is deficient or lacking. I give all of mine kelp (from Animal Element) which is a great trace mineral in addition to the mineral, salt and sulfur blocks.

Sounds like he is looking for electrolytes. I would give him a THElectrolyte syringe. My mare sometimes does this and I give her a syringe and it fixes her. She gets one like 2 or 3 times a month.
