| Browbands for me... FLoyd has fat ears and the one eared makes him uncomfortable. I like the looks of a browband also. |

Location: California | I had to make a quick purchase on a Loomis gag after my horse decided she loved it. The first one I found was the one ear style. One night I was looking at the tack sites on the FB pages and saw a browband style, so I bid on it. The next day at a race, coming out of the arena, my horse shook her head and off that bridle fell! Luckily my horse is not crazy and it didn't turn into a wreck. I put a browband and throatlatch on the headstall for now, not going to take that chance again! |

Location: MD | One Ear WITH a throat latch, no exceptions. I don't mind thin brow bands as long as they aren't to snug
ETA: and by thin I mean leather width, like not to large or distracting to take away from the horse. I have become boring in my "old" age and am liking outrageous things less and less.

Location: North Dakota | I have both and prefer the look of a double ear but like the stability of a browband. My dream bridle would be this but in black.http://www.hobbyhorseinc.com/shopping/show_tack/5142_pendleton_headstall.shtml
ETA- Where the heck does everyone get these one ear headstalls w/ throatlatches? In all my time spent in tack stores and shopping online, I have never seen one.

| I have a mixture of both browbands and single ears. I prefer the one ears when I'm riding at home, and browbands when I am running. I feel like running in a browband gives me peace of mind because it has less of a chance of slipping off. I also have a one ear with a throat latch that I use on my hackamore |

Location: Texas | We only use a browband with throat latch for snaffles. Everything else is one ear or split ear with no throat latch. |

Location: Northeast Nebraska | Browband with throatlatch. Don't like one ears. Or two ears. Don't like bronc noseband halters or rope halters either. |

I get a good tack maker to put one on if it doesn't come with one. You can also buy the throat latch as a single piece. Or just buy more boring headstalls, those seem to be the only ones that come with one on already. |

Browband for snaffles is safer and more stable. I like one ears on everything else.
I agree with tater chip. In fact, my snaffles are the only bits I have with a browband. Every thing else is a single ear. |
