Location: Buffalo, Wyoming | What are everyone's favorite Draw and Combo Bits and why?
I have a couple of each in my trailer but they really don't fit my hands the best. I have a mare that I think could benefit from one or the other so I should probably start to like them a little. |

Location: Beggs, OK | The Cindy Wright twisted three piece copper draw bit is my favorite. It's super wide so that the middle piece fits right across their mouth. They can be hard to find, but Reinsman made them for a while.
The only combination bit I ever use is a Wasson three piece that was the original that the Josey Million Dollar bit was copied from. |

Location: Beggs, OK | Yes it is. I have an original twisted copper one and a Reinsman smooth three piece. They work great to help with head set. You can leave it floppy in their mouth to make it milder or pull it tighter in their lips to get a quicker reaction. |

Location: Louisiana | Favorite draw is an L&W with a square twist snaffle mouthpiece. My favorite combination bit is a short shank, rope nose, with a chain mouth. I don't know who made it or where it came from, but I use it a lot. The chain is forgiving so I'll run T-Bo in it when I notice myself being a little heavy-handed. |

Location: Riding Crackhead. | I don't use combo bits but I've recently gotten a draw bit obsession on the recommendation of a friend of mine to try one. That has led to I think I have 5 or 6. Most of them are Duttens with chain mouth or 3 piece mouth both smooth and twisted. |

I have wanted to try in on two younger horses, but want some real opinions.
I have a mare that Jill Moody rode prior to my getting her. My mare acted like no matter what bit I used on her that I was killing her mouth even though I wasn't being heavy handed. Jill said she had really good luck with my mare and her siblings using a draw bit. It was the answer I was looking for. She no longer fights me and keeps real smooth in her turns. |

Sorry I realized I didn't finish your questions. My mare is now 8 and it was mid way through last season that I switched to a draw bit. She's a very free/hard running horse. |

Thank you! I have a gelding that is the exact same way, he turned 7 in December and I'm constantly switching bits. Which is why I have been entertaining the idea of using a draw bit. I really appreciate your answers! |
