Location: Oklahoma | My horse is high withered and his back drops a little. One side of shoulder is a little bigger on one side than the other. I have went to two different saddle makers and a person that sells all kinds and even they say they dont have a saddle that fits! Gonna load up and go to bbr and maybe talk to someone to make a custom fit but so afraid it might not be right heard some horror stories. Anyone with any suggestions? Thanks |

Location: Opelousas, LA | Before you spend the $$$$ to have one custom made, I would try a Meleta Brown freedom saddle. From what you posted about your horse, Meletas saddle would sure be worth the shipping to give it a try. She is WimpyB on BHW. |

| I don't know about her being at the BBR, but I do know if you send her pictures she will know if she can help you. She has a saddle demo program. I have a high withered horse that has a little dip, too and her new tree works perfect for him. You can google Meleeta Brown Freedom Barrel Saddle and get her contact info. She is so knowledgeable and friendly, I highly recommend talking to her. |

| Also something to consider is why are his shoulders crooked? Is there a physical conformation reason behind it, or does the horse need worked more evenly, have a chiropractic issue that's causing him to move crookedly? When I first got my boy he'd been out to pasture for years with nothing done to him. His hip was out pretty badly and even just moving around the pasture he was carrying himself in a way that didn't necessarily appear lame, but it had caused one shoulder to build up more than the other. It's taken a lot of work and time and careful riding to get him even. I would say this is the first year in 4 that his right lead lope is equal to his left lead. |
