What is the best piece of equipment for removing rocks from outdoor arena? Need ideas (that don't include picking each rock up by hand ;) ) Thanks!

An implement to pick up rocks exists. I would call an implement company or maybe even a road construction company and talk to them. They might be able to point you in the right direction.

I used to get the neighborhood kid, my nieces or somebody's kids and we'd have a 'rock party'. I'd pay them a nickel a rock. Now after we drag the arena, I take a manure fork and pick up the rocks with that. If it falls through, it's not that big to worry about. I don't get that many little rocks.

When my children were little this was a great "punishment" job.  Depending on what they did wrong was how many buckets they had to pick up.

Rock Picker.  Not sure if you could rent one or not, but I would call an equipment rental place and see.  Handy little machine.

We use a Harley rake. It even gets the smaller ones, and does such a great job!

I am a HS baseball coach. Here is a link to one piece of equipment. There are also a ton of options the will attach to a 4-wheeler or small tractor. Just google "baseball field rock removal" or something like that.

Rock picking for punishment! LOL! That was my childhood right there! When we would go over to my Aunt's house she would also have us fill a wheelbarrow before we could ride.

Used a rockpicker in mine. We have also brought in new sand/dirt to cover the rocky areas and are careful not to dig too deep to bring those rocks back up to the surface.

If you find one let me know - the rock picker we bought only picked up large rocks like 5 lbs or larger. we have thousands that are fist sized, I have bought a rake and can pull then into a line but still have to hand pick them up. I paid two jr high boys to pick up rocks full time one summer and we have a HUGE pile in one corner thought we made a difference put didn't really as every time we deep plow a whole new batch appears. Would love to try some of the equipment I see advertised but spending several thousand dollars is not in the budget. Good luck

Poor people like me have used an old almost wore out rotating hay rake ... double or triple the wind rows and then scoop up the rocks in your tractors front end loader ... to fix your roads with ... yep .. there is a use for everything ..

And keep your arena drags shallow .. all you need is 2-4 inch cushion ... a chain type drag works wonders ..

My dad used to trick my friends, siblings, their friends, and I all into coming over during the spring... we would somehow always fall for it.

We each got buckets and a pat on the back...My mom always made big dinners and suppers for us tho so my friends enjoyed her cooking. But It was still a terrible way to spend a Saturday.  Especially on 100+ acres of pasture land he had just turned over lol

We always had a nice pasture tho!
I swear Oklahoma was one big rock under the soil... It just broke off in smaller pieces when you tilled it.
