Location: on my horse | I posted a few times about my new mare and shared my confidence issues resulting from my last horse and asked when I bought her if you all thought I would be able to find a go button buried under lots of fat and lack of fitness. I decided to buy her anyway because no matter what she would be good for my confidence.
I'm attaching a few updated pictures and tuning in to share that as she's getting in shape she indeed has a go button and the most exciting news... SHE'S PATTERNED ON BARRELS! I've been taking her to shows, gymkhanas, and barrel races because I'm still having issues riding in a public setting after my gelding and cruising around on her has been the ticket. I finally felt confident enough to do a time only last time, I planned on loping/trotting slowly but she had other plans and high loped the pattern with great turns I was in shock lol 
She's still not where she needs to be fitness wise so I didn't let her go any faster even though she politely asked  I called up her old owner and she told me that they worked the pattern on her quite a bit (slow work etc) when they first got her and she remembers.
We've been everywhere and I even let a local 4-H girl use her during practice and I just looove her so much! She's a huge blessing.

Location: Lost in the corn of Iowa. | So happy for you. I just sold a mare because I had lost my confidence with her, and ended up with a nice gelding. And I'm like you, I want to find a go button, but I'm pretty content slow loping a nice pattern at this point.
