Ulcer maintenance?

I just realized they no longer sell the stuff I was using for ulcer maintenance. Really a bummer, because I saw how well it worked with my horse. What do you guys use to prevent ulcers? That can be used long term? I really would like something that I could feed the day before a rodeo and the day of, not something that would have to be fed every day. Thanks in advance!

I'm going to try GUT by Uckele
Edited because I just saw you want day before, day of and day after. I used ranitidine at those times. 10
(300mg
) tabs twice a day.

If you were using omeprazole, just get some UlcerGard and use the 1/4 tube dosage.

Ridinonfaith...you need to contact Douglas Gordon about the omeprazole research. You will be pleasantly surprised.

He just posted last week that he no longer sells it! But maybe he will chime in here and he might have some left.

I use Ulcer Prevent in THE Muscle Mass
This is what got me started and so convinced to use THE. I started it on a gelding that was 18ish at the time and probably had ulcers his entire life. Never knew a thing about them so I tried the MM on him with joint & ulcer prevent. He was a total different horse. Really made me feel bad that I didn't know what was going on all those years. All my blends I use on my own horses include the ulcer prevent.

How do you feed the Rantidine. Pills? Where do you get them and how many a day?
Thanks

I had my gelding on 28 days of Gastrogard a 1/2 tube a day along with Neigh-Lox Advanced. When he was finished with his 28 days of Gastrogard he remained on the Neigh-Lox Advanced two scoops twice a day. It has made him a totally different horse. He used to rear & lunge at the gate & couldn't concentrate. Now he goes in calms & turns all 3 barrels with ease He went from running Div. 2 & 3 to running Div. 1 & 2

I've had good results with Gastroade. In one week of feeding it twice a day, I could tell that she was feeling better.
