Location: Lost in paradise | I have not been on in a while, and have not ridden in almost a year. Went to an IBRA State show in Florida this weekend to watch. I have so many questions. I thought they were a big organization, but this show was so poorly done it was embarrassing. One person ran out of order by about 15 horses...ran the fast time but was disqualified, but when the announcer explained it...the family was a major sponsor. Then they let her time stand. They posted the Finals list at about 10 pm at night, but they left out about 25 people. Including top 5 and 10 people. There were some big names there that said they would not be back. Finals were supposed to start at 10:00 or 10:30 this morning, but they did not have the new draw posted and many people had left for home with out knowing they made the finals run. I'm not trying to be ugly, it would be great for an association to be strong in Florida. Does IBRA know about stuff like this? I didn't even lose any money, just went to watch friends. I was really hoping things would be good I can't say anything good about this show. Well maybe the weather was nice, and the ground looked pretty good. |

| I intend on joining. Hopefully they will get their stuff together before next years big race. I remember going to the FL State show several years back and it was fun & ran well. |

Location: South Central Florida | We didn't go, but have heard nothing but bad stories. I don't think I ever heard of an IBRA State show before. NBHA State show is one of the best in the country. Every show has problems, but what I'm hearing is very disappointing. |

Location: Middleburg, Fl | Back when I use to be a state rep for IBRA(many years ago) Yes we had a state show in 2008 when Melanie ran the north end of IBRA, but she got out of it for personal reasons, I worked with her and Lori Bowden when they both ran it. IBRA use to be a really good assoc. and I always liked it from what I heard the original founders of IBRAZ are no more they turned the reins over to someone else to run. It is big up north, but never got that big here due to NBHA and how big they are in this state. I hate to hear the show was ran so poorly but like with everything the first year of the new reps there is always going to be bumps in the road and a learning curve. |

| Indiana has really picked up IBRA when NBHA bit us all in the ass on reps. They had no shows for us for months on end, so ALL the good barrel racers went to IBRA. It's nearly impossible to find NBHA shows here now. I'm not even an NBHA member anymore. I love IBRA, so it's really unfortunate that other states are having problems.
We also host the national finals though, so... it's bound to be a bit bigger around here since we won't have to haul as far to nationals. |
