I think there was a similar post about this a little while ago but how do you handle the transitions, priorities, and challenges in life being a young woman and wanting to barrel race? I'm going into my last year of college this year and am currently working two jobs
(one is an internship
) and am starting to take barrel racing lessons this week
(very excited
) because I never really got the experience I wanted with it only really getting to try it for a year. Soon I'll be out of school and finding a job and will obviously fully support myself. I want to do the things I want to do, which is barrel race, before I don't have as much time to do it when having children, etc in the future. I feel like I'm rambling but how do you line these things up and make sure you can do these things? I also am having some issues with my mother and am considering taking out a loan to cover my car insurance and cell phone that she pays, so I can be independent because we're having problems and I don't know how much more I can stand. How do you deal with being in debt and trying to make your dreams come true? I won't be in much debt right now because I have scholarships and grants, but with my degree, I won't necessarily be making the most in the world to pay it off asap either. So many what-ifs and unknowns can be a little overwhelming so I came here to see how you all handle it! If someone can remind me what that similar post title was called, that'd be great so I can go back and look at that too.

Thank you! That actually wasn't the post I was talking about but it's still helpful! I think it was a post about doing things independently as a woman barrel racing, having a job, etc. I can't remember exactly and it may've been a few months ago. Regardless that post helps too! My goals are to be able to take lessons and get enough experience and comfort with barrel racing so that after I graduate, get a job, and am decently stable I can buy a barrel horse and have the means to barrel race on my own if that makes sense? But I guess I'm overwhelmed at the money it will take and how to do that when there are other things that become a priority too. I know I'm just b**chin. Lol
