achildres - 2015-08-07 9:53 PM I'm not sure if the person you're selling the mare through is getting any money out of the sale...but if they are, then they've most likely put it as private treaty to tell potential buyers more than your asking price, that way they get more money out of it. (I've been in this situation, bought a horse for a certain price through a consigner, talked to the owner about the price a few months later and the consigner upped the price about 5k from asking and never told the owner.... ) I pray that isn't your situation!!!

As a buyer I skip the ads because I too think the horse will be out of the range I'm looking for or over priced.

As a seller, who has that kind of time to go through all the "price" emails. If you get 100 emails or texts asking for price you may not get one real interested buyer.

I see why some people don't want their sale information out there but it's the horse world it gets out there anyway. The only info people will see is the list price not the sale price.
