Location: SW MO | Hello, my gelding Tee has been diagnosed with EPM and has been selected as a finalist in Supior Therapy’s epm rehab contest. The horse with the most “likes” on their comment wins one month of therapy and will be used for educational posts/ a case study from Superior therapy. It would mean the world to me if you could please “like” Tee’s photo in the comments of this post. He deserves the best and it would mean so much if he could be rehabbed there. Vote on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/2394650407456673/permalink/2549738745281171/ Tee’s story: I purchased him in September '19 after years of searching and trying different horses to get back to competing on. As soon as I walked a circle on him I knew I wanted to buy him. People would probably say he was quirky and not easy to get along with- hard to ride and very sensitive. For me, he rode quiet and we really trusted eachother. Unfortunately he was not anyone's first string horse over the past couple of years, so he needed TLC. He is a 17 year old gelding, race bred and very strong. After corrective shoeing and vet work, we really got with eachother quickly and clocked in the top of the 2D and won the average at an open rodeo. After that, I gave him some time off because he seemed sore. After a couple of vet visits and PEMF treatments he was diagnosed with EPM. He is on treatment and I am adding Vit E to his diet. I want to make sure his rehab after treatment is the best, what he deserves, so I have been looking for therapy options. THANK YOU SO MUCH IN ADVANCE! if you vote, please comment below and I’ll send you a message to see how I can help you.

Location: Oklahoma | Boy if you win this you will be amazed at the transformation! My horse is there now! I go every Wednesday and Friday and get to work there too! Whoever wins this is an AMAZING prize! I saw transformation of my EPM horse in a week! and it has been 5 weeks and he just getting better and better! The first day Summer had to hold his neck becasue he couldnt balance and could only go bout 1.8 and had to have 2 breaks on the tread and the time was very short like 5-7 mins on. Now he is up to 2.6 and different water levels and he can go 20 mins with no break!!! and he still got more in him! I dont know if we be able to run barrels and there is still alot of work to do even when he gets home! One thing bout Summer she will teach you what to do when they go home and of course you can come and see your horse and learn as your horse getting rehab. If you do win be sure to continue the work when you get your horse home! Thats a huge key that some people think that they drop there horse off and pickup and time to go barrel race. You will learn alot! Good Luck! |

Location: Vinita, Okla. | Hey, Mzbradford! EPM is so odd to me!!! You bought him in Sept, of 2019, correct? Was he or had he shown any signs of it at that time? My reason for asking is that I've always heard and experienced that it was a long time coming-for lack of a better phrase! What were the signs you were getting that something could be up? Did you get a second opinion? Was he running and competing when you bought him? And there were no signs???? Just drives me crazy! For all who have to go through all that, and then they may still never come back! Good luck to you and Tee! |

Thanks for the good vibes! Tee won and will be the EPM "case study" horse on the Superior Therapy Facebook page. He had a few things that were odd about him, but he was running when I bought him. We made a handful of nice runs before he seemed sore in his stifles. I took him to three vets before EPM was confirmed. So far, he is on day 14 of his treatment. I have noticed improvement in some of his "odd" things he used to do. I am hopeful that Summer and Superior Therapy can help him make a come back. |

Congrats on the win! I'd highly reccomend adding MVP Eclipse PM to your treatment program. And once treatment is over putting him on something that will keep his immune system boosted to help prevent recurrence. I hope you have a successful outcome without any future relapses. Keep us updated please :) |

| Congratulations on the win! I've seen a little about that facility and it seems pretty amazing. EPM scares me to death. I'm always worried about it. I hope and pray that someday they can come up with a preventative of some sorts. It's gotten or so it seems, so prevalent these days. We live in the country and have possums all the time. I feed my cats in my tackroom and keep the food up at night to try to keep them from visiting. In fact our chickens were refusing to come up to the coop a few nights ago... which is very odd.. my hubby went out to try to herd them in and he saw a big ol possum near the barn, it scurried up a tree near the barn... it's still there, he shot it but it's so far up the tree it's just gonna have to stay there till the buzzards discover it. I use to hate seeing people posting those "facts" about possums and not to kill them.. we kill every one we see on our property... no guarantee it will keep our horses safe but I just refuse to have them here. I hope your horse gets to return to running and more importantly heals completely |
