How do you clean the mouth piece on your bits? I found an o-ring snaffle in my tack room that hasn't been used in I don't even know how long and the mouth piece is rusted. How/what is the easiest way to clean it so I can use it?

If you set that bit in a small tupperware dish and pour a can of Coke over it and let sit in Coke for 24 hours. It will soften all the rough edges and sweetens the flavor of the mouth a bit. When you take it out, just wipe with a brillo pad and rinse and your ready to go.

I use Flitz metal polish, then soak it good and long and rinse. Then brush it with a toothbrush and toothpaste. The minty flavor is nice.

WINK is a rust cleaner/ remover. Quick and easy removal should be done in less than 5 minutes. thoroughly wash off with soap and water and ready to go .

And if it's a cheap bit it will be dissolved by the next morning? te he he.
