What is a really good, hopefully quick, way to pull soreness out of a horse's hooves? Harden/toughen them up?
This horse is barefoot.

magic cushion will pull soreness...not sure about hardening. Maybe a dmso concoction? My farrier a fewnyears ago did Magic cuishion, then painted the hoof with pinetar and dmso...duck tape leave till it falls off.....hoof was great in 3 days. Bad stone bruse.

Magic Cushion. Golf ball sized amount in the toe of hoof. wrap with vet wrap then duct tape the heck out of it. Should stay on for 24-48 hours. horse should be much better by the time they wear through the duct tape.

Turpentine will harden them pretty fast..
This. I used it every other day for about two weeks and my farrier was not happy! It really hardened the hoof and he had a little trouble driving nails.

Smile's Prid Salve for drawing and Durasole for hardening. Both products are amazing.

If you can find a vet that will give you some... iodine crystals and turpentine. You put the crystals on, pour the turpentine on and watch it turn into pretty purple smoke. It basically burns the sole. But thanks to the meth heads, it's pretty tough to get iodine crystals now. Don't get it on skin though since it does burn.

Hoof Freeze is what we use to take the sting out if one gets cut a little short or seems ouchy after shoeing. It's usually pretty easy to find.

If you can find it nothing is better than Miracle Leg Paint. Good luck finding some.

My vet told me to use 7% iodine on a horse's soles before because he was thin soled and tender footed. Just spray or paint it on the soles every other day but do NOT get it on the frog. After I did this for about 3 wks we backed off and did it about 2x/week.
