My SO and I are thinking about going to the NFR for the first time this year. We want to see one performance - what area of the arena will give us the best seats for the money? It'll probably have to be balcony, but still, I'm sure some are better than others.
Would the sides or behind the roping chutes give us a better view?
We mostly care about being able to see the roping events and barrels.

We always try to sit in the middle of either side. I prefer the second barrel side. We sat down by the bucking chutes one year and we couldn't see any of the horse's and bulls coming out. We had to watch the big screen but then again, you'll end up watching the big screen a lot unless you get the primo seats and not in the balcony.

We've sat in both - the sides and the roping chute end - both have been good. We have also been at the VERY top in the balcony and down on the plaza - liked both just fine also. We have never sat on the bucking chute ends, don't think we would like it there.

Ok thank you for the advice! I'll see what I can find on the sides.
