Location: on my horse | I've tried about 13 saddles on my mare without luck in fit, it really can't be this difficult can it?!
I found a coats trail saddle in my area and surprisingly its in my price range. Has anybody ever had one or ever tried to run barrels in one? I would prefer a barrel saddle or a cutter but haven't found anything that fits her yet.
We've tried:
different gullet sizes and shimming (7, 7.5, 8, 8.5, 9) Crown C we both hated them, have talked to Brian. We're just not going there right now...

Any other suggestions are also welcome, I know I've missed trying some key brands but I'm limited by what I can find in the community and at the local tack store because unless I'm almost positive its going to work I can't keep shipping from out of town. I've thought about cactus, coats, reinsman, and jeff smith because I'm pretty sure I can find one locally. That's the last I have idea wise, I don't think Billy Cook will fit from research but if anybody disagrees please tell me lol.
Also, do any companies ship bare trees?
She's short (so really long saddles just plain don't work), has a flat back, very large shoulders that are nicely laid back so finding something that clears her shoulders and doesn't cause a fit issue somewhere else has been the main struggle. I've had a local saddle fitter help me with the process but at this point I can recognize fit and find sore spots. The best was the Meleta Brown but it had too much rock and the middle of her back was starting to get sore. Until Meleta starts making the #2 tree again we're stuck. Ahem WimpyB

Location: Midwest | Have you ever tried a treeless? I personally don't care for them, but it might work for you. They are super comfortable but way too deep for me. I get to feeling trapped.
I would look for a Bob Marshall as the Circle Y I had was poor quality. I hear the Bobs are better made. | |

| The billy cook from sulphur Oklahoma have different trees.
The 2030 series has a Lynn Mackenzie tree, and I would say this is their widest one, and I don't find it has that much rock, I would suggest trying that one if you can. I use this one on my colts, I love the feel, sadly my horses grow out of it as I am drawn to ride whiskey barrel horses.
Tod sloan, they have three different trees, the b2 is for a regular horse, again I wouldn't say there is a lot of rock in it, I used it on a flat backed horse who was 1200 lbs and it fit her perfect.
The b3 is specifically made for flat backed horses who are a wider.
If you want to try a sloan, the diamond s series I believe you can custom order for under 2 k, keep that in mind as there are many people trying to pass these off as original tod sloan. The trees are similar, same measurements but the diamond s is machine made, not hand made, and same goes with the leather, mostly machine done
Forgot to mention the Lynn Mackenzie Neuva tree, this one is made for the wide flat horses.
