Alright you guys, it's almost Halloween and I know some of you have shared your ghost stories with me before but I wanted to start a new one since Halloween is AWESOME!!! So share your true ghost, bigfoot, chupacabra, demon, creeper, or whatever stories. I've told mine at least once before but if someone wants me to share about my haunted house I'd be happy to do so.

Oooh that's cool (and creepy)! Does it just stay out in the woods singing or does it come inside too?

No it's straight up creepy as he**!!!! She sings some creepy old timey song, hard to make out words but you can just tell by the tone. I'll have to set up a voice recorder one of these days to try and catch her.

In the house, you can hear someone walking around in the attic (checked that it wasn't animals), sometimes you see shadows, occassionally will hear a man talking during the middle of the night.

I know last night, I was out feeding my new filly, around oh I believe it was 7:30 pm....I heard a low pitched whistle....didn't see anyone behind me or near the pen, turned back towards her and saw almost like a large shadow figure dart through the lean too. We've researched the house and it's over 150 years old, was told there was an unmarked indian grave yard on the property (we just don't know where). And apparently in the north east corner of the property, there is the foundation from a previous home where the young couple that lived there had gotten sick and died. It will have to be dug up to see, but the county was pretty helpful with all the info they had about it.

I guess I'll just tell mine again. If you've already read it you can skip over. My story began when I was a sophomore in High School. My dad was working out of the country so my mother, younger sister (Cam-she was around 1o yrs at the time), and I moved back to Michigan to be closer to the rest of our family. My parents did not want to buy a house because we figured we'd be moving again and the economy is absolutely horrible over there. Anyway, my mom came across the perfect house online. It sat only a couple blocks off lake Michigan in a nice neighborhood. It was close to 100 years old but beautiful and cozy and its owners had done a lot of work to renovate it after the previous owner died a few years prior. They were joining the peace corps and needed house sitters and we filled that roll.

Immediately after moving in I started noticing something moving out of the corner of my eye. The best way I can describe it was how a cat moves if you look at it out of the corner of your eye. Low to the ground, slinking by quickly and then gone. But there was no cat. There was nothing! I never told anyone this because my parents always made fun of me for believing in ghosts and I didn't want to scare Cam.

The way the house was set up, my bedroom was downstairs, right off the living room. Upstairs was the master bedroom and a loft area that doubled as Cam's bedroom and a second living room. I made it all of 3 nights in my room. The bathroom attached to it had been completely remodeled which was nice (heated floors yay!) but I always got a super creepy vibe from it. The wood floor outside my bedroom creaked all night as well. I don't want to say it sounded like footsteps or anything, but there was a lot of creaking like someone was walking around. Regardless of whether or not this was a ghost, it did not help me feel comfortable. So I moved upstairs and my sister and I shared a futon for the next 3 years.

A couple months after moving in, I was in that same bathroom. Right above the toilet was a cabinet with a basket made out of a deer antler on top. It was very stable and tucked back on the top of the cabinet. That day as I sat, doing my business, the basket slid forward off the cabinet and came crashing down towards my head! Luckily I reacted in time to put my hands up and sheild my head. After many years of watching Ghost Adventures. I knew to try and debunk anything strange. So I jumped around, slammed the cabinet, moved the basket. NOTHING I did made it move at all. After those initial experiences things died down a lot. Other than just creepy feelings nothing remarkable happened...until the mold. It was discovered that when the homeowners remodeled the kitchen, something went wrong and the kitchen was FILLED with mold. Everything had to be removed, the entry to the kitchen was blocked off with plastic sheeting, basically our whole kitchen and dining room were off limits for MONTHS. There were several issues coordinating the homeowners and the contractors and it was just a mess. Evidently our ghost was not impressed with this remodeling.  One day I was upstairs, completely alone in the house. I was standing in the middle of the room and I felt a tug on the back of my shirt. It was very distinct and I turned around to see if I had brushed against something. Absolutely not possible. Shortly after I was in the downstairs bathroom getting ready. I was standing in front of the mirror and felt something tap me HARD right on top of the head. My first thought was "bug" so I felt all through my hair, clothes, and surrounding area. I found NOTHING that could have hit me on the head. It felt exactly like someone tapping me with their finger. Normally I'm very hard to scare and try to investigate when something weird happens, but my fight or flight took over and I BOLTED.

Another time in that bathroom, I found a pair of my mom's...delicates completely balled up and wedged behind the sink between it and the wall. There was NO way they could have gotten shoved back that way on accident. Someone had to tuck them in there. And she hadn't even been in that bathroom that day (the undies were NOT there earlier that morning). So our ghost was a perv. And we got super creepy feelings in the shower. The upstairs bathroom only had a bath tub so we had to go downstairs to use the shower. It got to the point where my sister and I only showered together. We'd take turns one stood guard while the other showered and then we switched.

One of the last things that happened to me, I can not say if it was paranormal or a living person, but it was equally creepy either way. I was the only one awake, watching TV at like 1am. Suddenly I heard the front door handle shaking up and down violently. It wasn't a round handle it was shaped like this ~ sorta and was just shaking for what felt like a minute.

Now I have to go back, because I was not the only person that experienced odd things in this house. While it was happening I spared Cam most of the details because I didn't want to scare her. She knew the house was haunted and we called the ghost Paul the Polgergeist to make it seem less threatening. The one experience she told me about while living there was one day she was laying on my parents' bed watching TV, home alone. She said she distinctly felt something lift up a piece of her hair and pull on it. I thought maybe she just shifted and pulled her own hair but she insisted she had not moved and saw her hair being lifted up. It wasn't until after we moved out that we told the full extent of our experiences. I told her about the movement out of the corner of my eye and her eyes got wide. She exclaimed that she'd seen it too. "It reminded me of a cat!" she told me. I couldn't believe it, she described it exactly as I had! She also told me that the basket above the toilet had slid off and landed on her head as well.

Whew that was long. I think my haunted house was pretty credible because 2 of us experienced same/similar phenomena completely independent of each other. And everything that happened, happened when we were fully awake and active, eliminating any posibility of sleep paralysis or similar conditions. The mind does strange things while falling asleep/waking up so nearly every experience at those times can automatically be discounted. Also I even as a teenager I was level headed and totally into ghosts on a scientific level. I tried everything I could to debunk the things that happened and could not. Some days I almost miss Paul and that house. It definitely added some excitement to my life!

I was at a friend's house doing chores at close to midnight. We had just gotten home from going to a dance or something. I stayed at her house all the time and we had a chore routine. It was a night with literally no moon. We were in the barn, (It's huge, and really old) She had two dogs at the time, and we were talking when all of a sudden both dogs perked up and started growling really loudly, moving close to us protectively, and slowly moving towards the creepy part of the barn no one goes in. The next part is really hard to explain, but the lights started going crazy, I mean crazy. One light flicked off then on, some dimmed and then got super bright, and it wasn't your usual power outage, they were flickering on and off, dimming, then getting brighter then I thought lights could. We were home alone, and were staying pretty calm, the lights went back to normal for about five seconds then blackout. We both whipped out our iphones, and turned on the flashlights, but after about five seconds my phone, that had been on 80% battery went dead, ten seconds later so did hers. The horses were freaking out in their stalls kicking boards, and pawing. At this point all the calm we had was gone, she didn't want to leave her horses, so we slowly made our way to her tackroom, holding on to eachother for dear life. As we turned around to try and see where the dogs were (Still growling) we saw a really feint light, almost like a candle move through the doorway of the creepy part of the barn. At that point we called the dogs and made a mad dash for the house. The lights worked, and the power was on, as soon as we got in we called her dad, and told him the barn's electricity was out. He asked if the house was too, and we said no. But he said there was no possible way, they were on the same circuit. Her brother was inside, all of us locked ourselves in her room and had two loaded shotguns. When her parents finally came home, we walked back out to the barn and all the lights were on!! To this day I am still scared of that barn! haha

Wow that's freaky! Have to wonder what made that part of the barn so creepy!

My parents house is haunted but I've only had experiences in my old bedroom with a ghost. I feel like there are multiple ghosts there tho just because of how they sound.
When I moved out my little sister took my old room simply because it is bigger than the other bedroom she has. She stayed in it one night and moved back down the hall to sleep in her old smaller bedroom and she never could tell my mom why. But I knew why.
I have felt a group of 2 or three standing by my bed in a huddle at night. In fact almost every night I slept I felt them there.
They have SHOUTED my name during the middle of the night before and woken me up in the middle of the night.
I've heard a male voice that's deep and who has growled my name before, and a soft spoken female voice who has whispered my name before.
They used to bounce my exercise ball to wake me up too... Inside my closet...
I've heard children laughing and their footsteps running down our tile halway and no one be in the house but me when I went looking for my little brother and sister...
I have heard a ghost say my name so clearly on the other side of my bathroom door that is connected to my room, that I barricaded myself in my bathrrom and called the police and my dad home from work because I thought a Man was inside our home and on the other side of the door. He even knocked so loudly I heard him over my shower, heater, and radio... All the doors were locked, all the windows were locked and there were no signs of any odd tire tracks on the dirt road home. Our house is designed for every window and door to lock behind you, meaning one way in and one way out giving you a better chance to either shoot the intruder or hold the intruder hostage until the police arrive. It was designed like that for security reasons by the man who built the house since his wife lived alone for the most part and because of the nature of his job. There are two secret rooms and a place where you can hide behind the studs in the walls as well. Also for security reasons. All of those were checked as well. Nothing was abnormal.
I have spent the night at my parents home before after having my baby and she's woken up in that same room SCREAMING at the top of her lungs before. She had the look of pure terror in her eyes. I don't know if it was because she had a bad dream or because a ghost woke her up but take it as you will. She screamed for a good five minutes and NOTHING would pacify her. SHe just kept looking over my shoulder and screaming. I don't think she's old enough to have night terrors (dreams you can't escape) but maybe that was it. It's never happened again tho.
My little brother when he was 2 has also asked me "Sissy who is that man?" While pointing down our hallway... No one was there. I asked what man thinkning an intruder was in the house and He said "That big man that just went into your room." Again, barricaded myself and my little brother in a secret room with a gun until Dad got home. No one was there.

Our rent house we have just across the pasture that we just moved into is also haunted. A ghost brushed past my shoulder in the kitchen when I was unpacking and went into the pantry and started banging around... (that'll be me if i'm ever a ghost...always hungry lol). The house I live in is a two bed one bath that was a third story to an old farm house that was dismantled and sold seperately. Why I'll never know. The old staircase is my washer and dryer closet.. I get bad vibes from it too.

Oh my gosh, all these stories are so freaky!!! Makes me glad I'm not reading them at night lol. I have a story that's a little different but still scares the crap out of me whenever it happens.

I have a problem sometimes when I wake up. It's called sleep paralysis. What happens is that my eyes will "wake up" and I think I'm awake but my body is still numb and I can't move it. I can usually wake up now if I remind myself to wiggle my fingers and toes but it's impossible to speak.
One early morning I woke up underneath my blanket in bed, lying down on my back. I kinda just chilled there for a little bit, not wanting to get out ad start my day yet, but then I started hearing this whispering and it didn't sound like a man or woman, just a voice. I listened to it for a second, thinking it was my husband talking in the other room or he turned the morning tv on but then the whispering started to get louder and almost hateful. I could never make out what it was saying but it probably wasn't very nice. That's when I tried getting out under from the blanket and out of bed but then I realized I couldn't move, not one muscle! It really freaked me out so I tried calling my husbands name. Nothing came from my mouth so I tried screaming. It was like I could hear myself scream in my mind but I knew nothing was coming out of my mouth. That lasted for what it seemed like a whole minute until all of a sudden I "woke up". My heart was already pounding and I shot out of bed, thankful I could move. I went over to my husband quickly and latched onto him. He said he didn't hear a peep out of me while I was in bed. I wouldn't let him leave my side for a whole hour after that lol.

Apparently a lot of people have had or still have sleep paralysis that sound like what happened to me or they have it much worse but I'm glad to know I wasn't going crazy from experiencing that!

I live with my grandparents who built their house on some acreage. The land was just used for farming. Well, one night my grandparents decided to go shopping, which I hate, so I decided to stay home. I'm not going to lie, I hate the dark. I grabbed our little dog (like she'd do anything if something happened. Lol.) and stayed down stairs the WHOLE time. I eventually got hungry and went up stairs to make some food. After my food was made, I went back down stairs. Not even 10 minutes later I hear my grandparents walk through the door. Then I hear my grandpa yell my name like I was in trouble. He storms down stairs and says " I told you not to wear you boots in the house! Go clean up your mess!". I pointed to my boots which were sitting in the corner of the room. Then I figured he was joking around with me. I started laughing. He got real p***ed and made me go up stairs to clean "my mess". My heart dropped once we got to the stairs.. There were big, muddy boot prints going up the stairs and started to fade going towards my room.. I looked at him and that's when he realized I didn't do that. We took every pair of boots him, my nana and I owned to see if it matched. NOPE! It didn't fit any of our boots.. My grandpa checked the whole house making sure no one was inside that wasn't suppose to be. We didn't see any signs of someone breaking in... We also will come home sometimes to every single light on in the house and our horses water hose running. We don't leave the hose hooked up because it will flood our basement. The first few times we brushed it off thinking we might have left them on, but after a while... We realized it wasn't us...

What does she do if you sing back at her?  Maybe break into You Are My Sunshine or Will The Circle Be Unbroken or Amazing Grace? I've Been Working on the Railroad?  Trying to think of older songs she might know. Maybe it is an old Indian song in their tribal language that she sings.  Do you know which tribe?

To the poster who hears songs in the woods.  This is a mother singing a lullaby to her child whom is buried somewhere on your property.  She's not harmful and she's not actually there. This is a residual emotional event that has imprinted on the enviroment like a film negative. No worries.

I have many stories,  my favorite two are;
We had just moved into our current property which has two HEAVY metal gates in the entrance.  NOBODY wants to get out and open these gates when its time to come or go.   One day my daughter whined about this while she put on her seatbellt and before our eyes the chain that locks the gates opened, slid slowly down the sides and fell to the ground. Then the gate slowly opened.  This is almost impossible.  It takes muscle to open these gates. Since then she refuses to go near the gates.

Secondly, all our neighbors have described a tall thin dark shadow lurking between all the houses.  We all describe the same image  to eachother to the detail.  We've determined its an old cowboy in a duster and a Don Williams type cowboy hat.  I've named him Jebidaih Jones and he is often seen using our doors to come in and out of our homes.  We have horses, so we're assuming that's whats attracting him.
