I would put her in a smooth mouth with dogbone mouthpeice but they are impossible to find where I live . Most of the bits come in twisted mouthpeice .

I would order one. I know my horse loves a smooth 3 piece mouthpiece. So much so I just order them from whomever has them at a reasonable price.

Order one, or buy off eBay or a bit swap page.   I have 2 twisted wire bits in my entire bit collection, and they are absolutely my least used bits.   Most barrel horses need to be comfortable moving into pressure with a soft give rather than avoidance.  That's easier with a smooth mouth.   Something else to think about, if she's that light, is using a leather curb instead of a chain.

I will probably invest in buying a short shank Ed wright with a smooth dogbone mouthpeice . I just have to decide if I want a locked mouthpeice or not
