Location: snow 9 months of the year | My husband has an opportunity to take a 3-6 month position as traveler in the healthcare field in Texas. May possibly be in Greenvile, Bowie or Longview areas. Does anyone know if there are many races in those areas during the winter months? Also, we would prefer staying in our LQ trailer and will have 3 horses we would need to have pens for. Are there any places that would offer RV hookup/stalls in those areas. Thanks ahead of time for your help! |

| I live just south of Marshall. There is something going on around here every weekend though New Years. There are a few during the week. There is a covered arena just down the road from me that has stalls and trailer hookups. Classicpotatochip will be staying there in late Nov That is the only place I know of in this area where you can board and stay right there. The guy that owns it is our constable so your stuff is safe. Located 10 miles north of Carthage, about 30 miles to Longview and about 20 to Marshall. Let me know if you need his number. |

Location: snow 9 months of the year | I won't know for a week where we are going for sure. But I definitely will get back with you if we end up in your area. Thank you so much for the info! |

Location: where ever my L/Q trl is parked | Mineola Nature Preserve has full hook up camping with pens or primitive. Only draw back is the pens have no shade/cover in case of rain. You can call Linda at 903-569-6983, tell her what you're looking for and how long; they will probably give you a better monthly rate. Mineola is about an hour west of Marshall and probably 30 minutes (west)from Longview. I'm not certain of the driving time for this. The Nature Perserve is right off hwy 69 and Loop 546. |

| We have had no rain for months and now it wants to rain every other day. Outdoor pens might be great for a weekend but six months of which we will probably get rain every other day, pens are not going to be too good. |

Location: snow 9 months of the year | So what towns in Texas would have the most barrel racing throughout the winter? |

You'll be in Texas... they barrel race here all year. The weather won't matter much because we have plenty of indoor facilities that we use year round. You'll love it here.
Good luck!

Location: NE Texas | I'm just outside of Greenville also. Currently a great series going on in Sulphur Springs, and there are weekly barrel races in Terrell. As far as a place for a hook up or pens, that could be tough unless someone has some extra space you could lease. If I had any extra, i'd say come on, but I don't. :( This is a good area with lots of great people. As far as quantity of events, i'd say there is more to go to weekly west of the Metroplex in the Weatherford/Stephenville area or more toward Central Texas or even down around Marshall, but still plenty to keep me busy right around here. |
