Location: Northern CA | Need advice on Muck Boots for my husband-- which style is the best for us horse people? Is there a style that allows for spurs to be worn and is semi-safe in a stirrup? Looking for one without the heavy tread that does nothing but pack mud and manure in the house. |

I have ridden in my bogs, but I prefer something with more heel and a smaller footprint. |

Location: KS | I have rode in bogs before also. Have always felt comfortable riding in them, especially the fact they keep you warmer. I do have a small foot (6.5) so didn't notice them tight in the stirrup. |

Location: The best kept secret in TX | I was dumb enough to ride in my Muck boots once.... My foot got hung in my stirrup while I was trying to dismount. Luckily my horse just watched me struggle for a few minutes and sighed once I finally got my foot free... Never again.
ETA: To answer your question I went to muck boots website and clicked on the best sellers under the men's tab. These look like they have a smaller tread.

 Tried and True

Location: Where I am happiest | All outside shoes come off in the mud room. We dont allow shoes on in the house except our house shoes/slippers that never see the outdoor's. I hate house cleaning so making everyone take their shoes off is much easier. lol. I even keep a towel by the back door in the mud room for the dogs feet if it's wet outside. lol |

Same here......we have always had inside shoes (or slipper) and outside shoes/boots. And our dog would come in, sit and raise his paw to have it wiped...... |

Location: Northern CA | LOL, I really meant for this to be a "preferred style" post not a house cleaning post but either way. Our backdoor comes directly into our kitchen, no mud room. And often when you have to run in to grab something fast the shoes don't come off because you are headed right back out. We don't make habits out of trapsing through the house with muddy shoes.
Sooo, in your experience... do the Muck boots provide much in the way of warmth and is there a style you prefer over another and why? |

| I have Bogs and really like them. I think they are less expensive than the Muck boots brand and seem to last longer.
My husband had the Muck boot and they were done for in less than a season. His Bogs from last year are still holding up. |

Location: Where you need a paddle... Oregon! | I've ridden in my Muck boots. I'm not sure of the "style", but they weren't all the way up to the knee, maybe 3 inches below? I could wear thick socks or sometimes 2 pair and my feet stayed warm. Mine slipped off and on so easily that if there had been an emergency I have no doubt that boot would have come off. My mom found me another style of Muck boot that is much taller and it fits pretty snug and I don't think they would come off quickly or easily. The 2 styles that I have wouldn't fit spurs. I just went without on those rides. |
