Location: In The Snow, AZ | Highly considering purchasing a CSI pad. From what I have heard from a lot of you, they are one of the top pads to buy. I have tried multiple saddles on my mare and none of them fit "right". So until I can get a custom one made, I'd like to get the best pad I can to help fit what we have.
How does a CSI pad work for multiple horses? Id like to be able to use it on both horses if possible.
And what thickness would be recommended?
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |

| I use it on three different horses and have no problem at all with it. I love it. And will purchase another. They are well worth the money in my opinion. |

| I use mine on two different mares. One is more narrow with a really high wither and smaller bodied. The other mare is big and broad with a flatter back and less wither. I use my 3/4" pad on both mares with the same saddle. They're both cranky and communicative enough to tell me when something isn't right. |

| I tried one at a barrel race this summer for our mare who has been hard to saddle fit and then got very sore when my crown c tree warped badly . It was the first time all year we had good sweat marks and she wasn't fussy about being saddled. I am saving up to get one bought. |

Location: North Dakota | I think they're awesome pads and would work for *most* horse/saddle combos. They have the absolute best wither contour I've seen on a pad. I had the one with a 1/2" insert and the only reason I don't have it anymore is because my meleta fits my horse very closely so a 1/2" pad is what works (rn all I use is a 1/4" felt liner and a woven blanket). Any saddles that are the right shape and everything for the horse, but just not such a close fit as mine would be fine to use with this pad. |

| With the csi pads, I am a fan, but they work better on ill fitting saddles if the saddle is a tad to big. It isn't a miracle worker, if the saddle is too tight, it will still be too tight but the pressure will be distributed throughout the entire pad.
If you have a saddle that is bridging, the pad will help, but you may see dry spots, or ruffled hair as when the horse moves the flex plates flexes to conform to the horse then goes back to normal position, so the horse may still experience bridging in that area.
As for using on multiple horses, I have different thicknesses and lengths depending on the condition of the horse, I switch the pads up.
If you are buying used make sure they come with a felt insert, I believe she quit making the foam insert 7-8 yrs ago but people are still trying to sell these pads for the same price as used ones 2-3 yrs old. |

Location: Jersey Girl | I am currently using an older CSI pad on my horse. My saddle is too wide for him (sits down on the wither). The CSI brings it up off the wither and allows it to sit where is should but there is still pressure there because I still have dry spots. It is working for now but I am looking for a saddle that fits my horse.
I would think if you have a properly fitting saddle this would be too much pad under the saddle. |

Location: NE Texas | I bought a used one about a month ago and I really like it so far. My horse seems very comfortable in it and almost seems to be alot freer turning. I was a skeptic, but I found a deal on one of them and thought, why not. Glad I did! I will likely buy another. |

Location: MD | I just bought a Jeff Smith and it fits my horse pretty darn good except it could have the tree shaved off a hair in the shoulder area. I can feel exactly where its tight on her. I really dont want to buy another saddle. I'm thinking a thin CSI would help distribute the weight? |

This is my dilemma as well that I was hoping to fix. Just a tad tight over her withers. I currently am using a Best Ever that, I believe, is a 1" thick pad. I was hoping a thinner CSI would alleviate some pressure. |

Location: Iowa | I bought one, so far I like it. A good point already brought up is if you don't like it, they will sell easily and for almost as much as you paid for it. |
