Location: The best kept secret in TX | Here is Quejanaisalena's Pedigree and my mare's pedigree. Try and not laugh at her registered name LOL I would've picked Full Moon Hancock or something funny like Miss Wimpy Hancock LOL but it is what it is. http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/quejanaisalena http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/miss+lefdore+hancock
Foal will be used for Reining, Roping, and possibly Cutting since the stud offers incentives. But only if I can find a trainer who doesn't cost an arm and a leg for showing in the cutting pen... Foal will replace my mare in the roping pen and reining pen for me since she's getting up there in age. She is not proven. Won small shows and larger ropings but nothing to be too proud of. 98% foundation bred 20 year old Liver Chestnut mare by Hancock's double and out of Full Moon Annie. This will be her last foal ever before I retire her so I've been hunting for a stud for a few years. She's had a handful of foals with previous owner. Last foaled when she was 9.... So I am a little concerned for her since it's been so long. She is in great shape and vet checked sound for both breeding/riding this past year. She's never missed a day of work and has no quit. I love that about her. I was so indecisive about a stud I didn't breed her this year... I will for sure get her checked for breeding soundness again this year because of her age. Thoughts on the cross?

| As far as a rope prospect goes, I'm sure he is capable of producing a nice horse. However, the resulting foal will not have bloodlines that will be marketable enough for cutters, reiners or barrel racers. I dont like that he is a HERDA carrier, and wouldn't breed to him for that reason alone. If you are not worried about $ value of foal and are using it for a rope horse, and your mare is 5 panel negative, you might produce a heck of a rope horse. |

Thanks Whiteboy. I understand the foal won't be very markatable with any stud that I choose simply because she's a nobody and a Hancock. Most don't like Hancock bred horses. Just looking for a foal to replace my mare. |

If you plan on keeping the baby it doesn't matter what the bloodlines look like or how marketable it is as long as you like the horse! If you like the mare and the stud I say go for it!! |

We have close friends that are cutters, so I've been around horses with that type of breeding more than barrel racing etc. And for the last few years I've told anybody that would listen how much I loved that stud. Not really sure what it is, just kinda drawn to him. So I say congratulations on choosing him, and I hope your mare checks out fine to proceed and you end up with a healthy momma and baby! |
