I'm going to be doing WAHSET with my horse this year (It's HS equestrian team) and she will be doing either 5 or 7 different events over 3 days (not 5 or 7 per day). What do you do to keep your horse going strong. Fallon Taylor uses forerunner as a recovery type thing. What do you guys use? Anything from supplements, pastes, horse wear, ect. I'm doing all gaming events so she will be worked out. She's in great condition already I just want her to perform at her best.

I frequently go to playdays/horse shows where my horse does many events in one day.

I find it most important to do a proper warm up and cool down with each event. Sometimes my horse won't drink well when it is hot, so then I will give him electrolytes. In-between gaming events, I get those sport boots off right away. I'll spray down with rubbing alcohol and witch hazel to help draw out the heat.  Whenever I have time, I get the saddle off too. I just do what I can to keep my horse as comfortable as I can. I make sure he has hay in front of him a few times during the day (to mimic grazing) and will split up feeding him grain throughout the day as well.

For a 3 day show, I'd make sure to get your horse out of the stall every couple of hours to hand-walk, if there is going to be a lot of time in-between your classes. If they will be on concrete, I'd invest in either SoftRide boots, or you can get mats to put in the concrete stalls or by your trailer.

Most important thing is to be sure your horse is in shape. Make sure to have warm up and cool down periods, don't put him back in the stall sweaty. Make sure that you have electrolytes if it's hot or if he is a heavy sweater. Hand walking and getting out of the stall is great as well. We use sore no more after we run are horses and if standing on concrete under shavings we wrap. Good luck and have fun

PHT Products are wonderful. Most important is to warm up/ cool down properly. Don't get distracted and realize you only have 5 minutes before your event and rush a warm up, if you are there to properly compete then your horse should come first(not insisting you are like this but some teens are). Make sure your horse is eating and drinking properly. I would also suggest soft rides if the horse will be on a lot of concrete/gravel.

Platinum performance. Walking and time out of the stall. Free choice quality hay.

Do not change the horse's diet while attending an event.
