| Is there an actual difference in the design of the boot? I saw on one site it was stated that an XL could be used as either but it did not state for the rest of the sizes.
I have large fronts from my finished horse. My new little guy is getting medium fronts from my boyfriend for Christmas. The larges appear to fit his backs well though.
I've never actually had or compared the back iconoclasts to the fronts in person so I wanted to ask before I go using them, is the sling support the same? Since they provide such good support I wanted to make sure I wasn't supporting a place I shouldn't be and have him end up injured.
I was thinking height might be the difference, but he's only 14.1 so I'm afraid anything taller than what I have now would be too tall.
EDITED TO ADD:Okay I'm starting to get a little frustrated here because no one has addressed my actual question yet.
I have 2 pairs of iconoclast boots
Medium FRONTS
Large FRONTS
The large fronts appear to fit the BACK legs of my smaller horse fine. Is here ANY DIFFERENCE in the structural design of a front boot vs a back boot that I should be aware of before using my large FRONTS as backs on a horse? As in the actual design of the boot and its ability to support a back leg when it's being sold as a front boot. I don't own a rear pair to compare.

Location: Wearing a winter coat...... | For some reason the hinds run small. Make sure you go up a size in them. My gelding wears a medium in the front and large rear. My other horse who wore a large front needed a XL rear. Good boots but goofy sizing. |

| No, I have boots that fit his hinds already - they are fronts that I bought/use on my other larger horse (15.3 vs 14.1).
They fit in terms of sizing while he's just standing tied, but what I was wondering was since Iconoclast advertises a separate front and back boot, is it okay to use fronts on the back or is the physical construction of the boot different for the conformation of a back leg vs a front leg. If the sling support on a front boot is gong to put pressure on the wrong areas of a back leg I don't want to risk injuring him. |

| I used the size charts on the website & measured both front and back. got medium fronts and large hinds. They fit perfect. Just use the charts and instructions they give |

| Can someone who actually owns both rear and front boots Go back to the first post, read where I hopefully clarified my question and help me out? I know how to measure and order the dang boots, that's not my question. My question is if sizing is correct is there anything that prevents front and back boots from being interchangeable in terms of design. |

Location: Wearing a winter coat...... | Honestly I wouldn't think so. I have the Extra tall hinds and the only difference is the height. I don't see any difference in the make so I would think you could interchange them. IMO |

Thanks! I was thinking height was probably the difference and since he's 14.1 but is pretty stout I'd be worried actual backs would be too tall since the large fronts are a good height on him. |

Location: MD | Looking at the two, no visible difference from what I'm looking at right now. BUT there's probably a reason they make a Front and a Hind boot.
