Location: Mountains of VA | Trump is doing exactly what the Clintons have paid him to do...........think about it. Even some of the talking heads have said all the Trump talk is doing nothing but helping Hilliary. We have thought all along that Trump would stack the deck in Hillary's favor.....someone needs to follow the money and connections!

Common Sense and then some
Location: So. California | Voting is months away and that is an eternity in politics.
Trump is an interesting, complex candidate. He believes what he says and says what he believes. In many ways that is comforting, in other ways that is scary as heck. Though I may not agree with everything he says, I do agree with many of his thought processes. How he could effectively implement even 10% of those into action (congressional approval anyone?) I'm not certain, but he would, no doubt, use public pressure to push his agenda through. That may or may not be a bad thing. Time will tell.
His business savy is legendary, so his ability to lead is proven and isn't even a question in my opinion. He's also very capable of using the system to his advantage. Budgets, finances, cutting expenses, etc. is his speciality. Neither party wants all that pork barrel spending to go away, balancing the spending Piggy Bank of the "parties" against balancing the budget, will be an extreme challenge.
What I see as one of his achilles heel is his tendency to speak too frankly, before he's had a chance to think the thought through all the way to the end. He's had to soft pedal on a few of his stances, but I will give him credit, he doesn't back down an inch when he think it's the right thing to do. Compromise is not something he does willingly. Ego is huge here, and when there is too much EGO, you Edge God Out.
The other area that he will have to deal with quickly (and quietly?) is his very public stance on muslims entering the country issue. He has 100's, maybe 1,000's, of muslims working for him throughout the world. Business wise, Trump buildings and business dealings are all over the world, many in muslim countries. His stance will become a huge problem for him professionally, affecting his business empire, if he doesn't soft pedal on this issue. Again, time will tell. My money is on sooner rather than later...
I still like Rubio as I think he is the better electable candidate.

I was shocked to read that banning muslims would actually be legal. I don't remember the exact laws but it is legal for the president to not let aliens in that have made threats or pose dangers to the US. I think it is reasonable to ask our leaders to stop the flow of people from the middle east and try to get a handle on security. Once again our nation is not following laws that are all ready on the books, just like with guns!
I sat by a gal at the NFR who has just recently became a US citizen. She is from Canada and said that all the questions during the process were in relation to outdated issues. She was asked about being a Communist, about any involvement with the Nazi's. One of the questions was along the lines of asking if she had any involvement with the Nazi party before 1946. She's in her 20's. Sounds like our system is really affective like the rest of any process with our government involvement.

I have had thoughts that he would not be very effective as POTUS though because Congress would never work with him. BUT, I watched one of the Sunday morning news shows today (Meet the Press, I think) & he was on there. He spoke about working with Congress & impressed me. He said he didn't get where he is in the business world without being able to negotiate & that is what he would do with Congress. The rest of his blustering is a show for the media, I think. He is getting tons of free air time & has spent millions less than many of the others running for office. He's smart! As far as offending other countries, who cares. If this country is returned to our status as leader of the world, other countries will work us.

I'm a died in the wool Republican. Have only, and will only vote republican in a national election. Who ever gets the nomination will get my vote. I hope it's not trump. As outstanding as his ideas are, they won't fly.
Can't keep my mouth shut but this ideal of "I will forever vote one party" is a big reason the government can't work together and will forever keep our country limited and drowing itself. go on keep voting Republican, may be a fly covered pice of dog poo but it wears red right. Wasn't Meet The Press the show that had another Repub candidate come on after Trump that we have hardly even heard of? Basically said that Trump would never get the nomination no matter what people wanted, I thought he made an ass of himself telling the American people that nope, your vote doesn't matter! Also watched an interview of Trump lastnight, he was very thoughtful, he was to the point.

We have been forced to vote "against" not for , for a couple of decades now. The Dem side has been completely untenable, the Republican side has just put up their "whoever's turn it is to run" candidate...and Bob's your Uncle. When Perot ran, he scared the crap out of the political establishment by garnering as much support as he did, but all his supporters accomplished was to get Clinton elected. Lesson learned.
Let me tell you, when I first heard of Obama, I thought....maybe here is a Dem I could actually support. That was WAY before he became a candidate. By the time he really surfaced on to the National scene, I had realizes his true ilk. Still, I had hoped that he would be better in office than Hillary.....I hope we don't actually find out. I have basically been depressed since he was elected, even more when he was re-elected. Any hopes for a free and prosperous future recedes farther and farther away. Unfortunately "his" game plan is not just his. It is all part of the "One World Government" agenda supporters, and those are to be found on BOTH sides of the aisle. The Dems are just on a faster track than the GOP. If I could I would fully support a third party capable of winning if their agenda focused on LESS government, not more.
Until then, I am forced to vote for the slower track party.

I could care less what title party I vote for ..I guess I'm an independent. ..I had someone yell at me (won't say what party die hard they were) informed me the independent party has problems to......last time I checked independent wasn't a party LOL. I'll vote for who has the best policy's who is more likely to follow through and who can be blunt but not a megalomaniac.

Good luck with that effort. Because for the last several (extending back to the late 60s) neither Party has delivered on promises...................................
