For fun, I would like to paint a straw cowboy hat. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions on how to do so correctly?

Location: Louisiana		Go to the craft store and get a product called "gesso", the spray version is easier IMO. Spray a nice layer where you're planning on painting. Make sure you tape/block off any areas you aren't painting.
Use acrylic paints. Finish with a nice spray sealer.
Easy as pie! The hardest part is being a perfectionist artist lol. The actual process is easy. And NOT expensive lol.
