...passed away at the age of 82  One of those guys who after he quit work as an actor, continued on as a businessman.  I saw him often on FOX's Saturday morning show Cashin' In.  He was quite okay with being a "Hollywood conservative".

Sad news. I always liked him, both as Trapper John, as well as his role on Saturday mornings on Fox. I know he was 82, but he seemed real sharp and healthy, so this comes as a shock to me. It just serves as a reminder that no matter how successful someone can be, we all eventually will face the great equalizer, when all is said and done.

I did notice the last time he appeared on Cashin' In after missing a few shows, that he was looking very frail and thin.
