Were almost tied lol mines a 17.15 and thats the only time I've ever had a good run on a standard pattern. Usually I'm anywhere from 17.5-18.5

Well anyone who says things are bigger in Texas did not apply that to arena size. I ran in my first barrel race in 1959 and I have never run in an arena large enough to even set up a "standard" pattern. Since barrel racing pretty well started in Texas, I guess our arena owners didn't really feel it was very important. Most of the barrel races that I go to now have at least 200 entries. It is more of a necessity to get entries in an out of the arena in a timely manner than setting a record.

The only race I know of is ANHA-I am not a 1D rider but my daughter ran consistent 17.3's there.  That was 10 years ago and there was maybe one sub 17 back then.

HA I know! A lot of races don't go on the standard anymore at all! Lol but this is the only pattern that everyone knows and stays the same sizeXD hahah and all of you make me feel like a noob! My fastest is a 17.9 on the standard:P although I also haven't ran on the standard in a good long time so the answer would probably be much different if I had ran on it within the past year!
