Elite Veteran Posts: 911 Location: Northern Ontario	I ride with a helmet too. Its a black tipper sportage. I trust my mare completely and am a handy rider but accidents happen. I always picture things like my mare slipping on a trail ride and falling on a rock or slipping at a barrel and hitting my head on it... you never know :( on a trail ride last summer, she stepped over a manhole cover when we were trotting(she is usually very level headed but it surprised both of us) and she jumped straight up like 10 ft in the air. Luckily, I stayed on but I was very happy to have my helmet that day.... the ground would have been far..
