Do any of you or your other ride one? Do they pinch? My husband is ordering a new saddle and can't decide if he just wants to stay with the rig he has or an in seat. He is riding a lot of colts right now and likes the idea of the free'd up leathers but have heard they pinch if you aren't riding in leggings. Now the guys that told him they pinch are all thick and my husband is a skinny bean pole. I don't know if "extra coverage" on the thighs would make a difference or not.

Are you talking about bucking rolls? Sorry but I've never heard of "seat rig" before

Yes they pinch. If possible ride one before ordering or buying.
The one I rode was rough out and had lots of pile and was really sticky seat. Maybe tooled leather wouldn't pinch as bad....

A seat rig is where the stirrup leathers come out of the seat to give more freedom to the fenders rather than from under the jockey.

Thanks! Do you mind me asking what brand you rode? He went a head and just ordered a regular association. He really wanted to try a seat rig before he bought one but no one around here rides one.

I think the pinching has to do with how the fenders come out at the top. We had an old one I rode in that never pinched me, but I have short legs and there wasn't and room between the opening and the fenders flare for it to move around/pinch. Anyone who let the stirrups out said they got pinched.

I had a seat rig rancher and it didn't pinch me at all. Most comfortable saddle I've owned. Kinda regret selling it...
