So cute!!!
OT, but I see that your mare has some edema under her belly. Mine is 339 days and has a lot!!! Vet said it was okay, but does it go away quickly? Any complications/issues?

Cute ! I had a mare with edema that bad last year. Vet said it was fine and it went away in a week or so after foaling

So cute!!!

Do ya'll foal at home? I'm hoping to get my mare in foal this spring, but so far am undecided about foaling at home or at the vet's next spring. I'd rather foal at home, but I also worry about something "going wrong."

Foal at home out in the pasture ....
Mares are designed to have babies with no problems ....
Keep her fat and sassy and >>>>>>>>>
Ignore her and she will show up with a healthy baby ..

Inside barns and at the vets is where all the germs and diseases are camped out!!

For some reason, that mare does NOT look very happy... She's having to move a lot faster than she is used to just to stay close to that baby. I love this time of year!!

Thank you! I've seen that in cows a lot but didn't know horses had the same problem. I saw the same thing but didn't understand what it was..

That is kind of what I thought (I keep my mare turned out 24/7 with a shelter) and feel like natural is best. I love my mare and want things to go as healthily and easily for her as I possibly can.  Fat and sassy would be a good term for my mare, even when she isn't pregnant, LOL.

Sorry, I'm not trying to steal the thread from the OP, mares and foals have me crazy excited and I keep coming up with new questions!
