The couch makes a more comfortable bed. The dinette is invaluable if you have kids. Plus, for hanging out, you face each other to visit instead of side by side. I bought a 14' shortwall so I could have both.

I'd prefer the dinette; easier to set drinks down, plates, etc.

As a person who has slept on both the dinette turned to bed vs couch that turns into a bed, I MUCH prefer to sleep on the dinette converted to the bed. Way more comfortable.

We have a dinette that folds into a couch. Its nice to have the table if needed for me to use my laptop, or to feed my toddler. If I had gotten to choose I wouldnt have picked the dinette, but it is proving useful.

I have a friend that has a dinette and I swore I would never have one. The "bed" it folds into is extremely uncomfortable. Not saying that you can't get good ones (and probably bigger... her trailer is an 8' sw), but I wouldn't feel comfortable asking someone to sleep on that.

I have a couch and anyone who has slept on it said it's great. I have a table that I can put out to go in front of it, but it doesn't bother me to hold my plate. I can see where the dinette would come in handy if you need to have a work space or place for kids to sit things down.... but I hate having to set it up and break it down each morning and night... the couch is much quicker.

Dinette, would be my choice. I am actually looking at differnt LQ myself right now. And I would prefer a dinette, because like others have said. It just makes for a nicer visiting/free time area. My grandparents love going with me to barrel races, but like their quit time as well, and then if my sister-inlaw decides to go with her horses and kids. Well anyways, its just nicer and they do change into a bed as well. Also if you half to take school pappers or work with you on the road its a easier place to sit down and work.

I always wanted the couch, ended up getting to good of a deal to pass up on one with a dinette and I'm very happy with it.  Makes for a nice area to do work, hang out etc and I've slept on in a few times and its always been comfortable.

Couch. Have a bad back so the dinette doesn't look comfortable. Heck we don't sit at our table at home much. If I need to work, I have no trouble using a laptop on my lap. I do it all the time at home.
