For all those who have had serious injuries or may in the future, here is proof that sometimes miracles do happen!! I'll try to keep this short and I'll try to attach videos and pics, but I'm not good at it
Back in August a filly of mine
(14 month old own daughter of FG
) cut her leg very badly. I have no idea what on because I have no wire on my place. She was laying by the fence when I found her but not tangled up in it. I got her to the University and they did surgery to repair what they could. She cut pretty much all the way around, left the vein and the tendon on the back of the leg. She did have a small puncture to her tendon sheath. They asked me 2 different times if I wanted to put her down
(before surgery and during surgery when they discovered the puncture
) Since she was young and a granddaughter of DFP too I decided to give her a shot and raise some babies. They put a cast on her and said pray. they didn't think she had enough blood flow to her hoof and thought it would die and I would put her down within a week or so. Well recovered! Never a lame step! She stayed at the University for 6 weeks, came home, then back for 2 more. She has been on barn rest since August. Bandage changes every 4 days and developed intermitent stringhault. Arpil 4 she was given permission to go back out to pasture. It took me a few days to get the courage to turn her out. Since she severed the tendon that runs down the front of her foot I really figured she would just be a broodmare. But I don't know. Look at her move!! I am just happy to see her run. I am pretty sure she isn't in pain and have slight hope she might get to be a barrel horse.

This is awesome. I know she will be forever grateful to you for not giving up on her
