Location: Somewhere around here | So we all know that there are two kinds of belt buckles; ones that you win at a show or rodeo, and the kind that you can buy at your Big R or Tractor Supply. I have both, a buckle that I won almost 10 years ago and two gift buckles from my mother. I never really wore the bought buckles before because I guess I was scared for getting dirty looks wearing them, which I have seen it happen to other people as well, but I've been thinking about using them lately just for the heck of it.
What types of buckles do you have and what do you usually wear riding? |

Location: CTX | I didn't win my first buckle until last fall after running for about 9 years, so I am very proud to wear it. ETA, I don't run in them, don't want to get hooked on the horn... Never really looked at store bought buckles, feels "off" somehow. Although your situation is a tad different since you didn't buy them yourself. But to tell you the truth, I would have to really pay attention to the buckle to see what it says.... so I would say: if you want to then just wear them and don't pay any attention to what others say about it! It's still a free country.

| I like wearing my won buckle around.
Don't wear a belt when I ride because I don't want to squash my thumb with the sharp letters or get it caught on the saddle horn! (Have done both) Not to mention the Kippy belt warranty is void if you catch your belt and rip it on the saddle horn. |

My husband was a pretty darn good bronc rider in his day so we have stacks of buckles he has won. He saw a champion pig buckle on ebay once and thought it was pretty cool so he bought it. A year later someone finally noticed that he had a pig on his buckle.
Wear what you like and don't let others opinions change that. |

They are just unhappy with their own lives. I have more buckles then I can wear and I never wear them. I hate belts and have been caught on a horn before because of one.... scary! |

Yep! IF I must wear a belt, it's a BB Simon with the original buckle. It lays closer to my person. |

| The only time one of my trophy buckles ever comes out of the trophy case is if I want to dress up a little bit going somewhere, which is very rare! I just prefer a standard buckles that comes on many belts, because it lays closer to my body and doesn't rub.
Side note: my pants do not stay on regardless of the fit if I'm not wearing a belt. So I have to wear a belt 24/7 and the cheap, standard buckles that come on belts it was feels the best to wear all the time. And that way I don't have to risk damaging my nice trophy buckles. |
