Location: Missouri | A couple friends and I are planning a girls weekend towards the end of June. Does anyone have any ideas of places to go? We aren't set on whether we want a little adventure or a relaxing spa type weekend.
So ideas for floating, canoeing, spas, wineries, scenery trips, are greatly appreciated.
We are familiar with the amenities of Branson, just trying to find something slightly less tourist-y. It is not completely off the list, but hoping for something off the beaten path a bit that may be just as fun. |

I second Hot Springs area. Two years ago my cousins and I met and stayed at a cute little resort with cabins on Lake Ouachita. It was very peaceful and had a pool and restaurant. Hot Springs is not far and has a lot of neat shops, the old "bath houses", crystal mines, race track (although racing is over for the season but they have slots, etc), etc |

Location: Texas | I did a girls weekend in Hot Springs with my Mom & two aunts. We went on a ghost tour, to the winery and the horse races. |

Location: 100 miles from Nowhere, AR | The Arlington is a neat old hotel and is on bathhouse row with all the shops and wineries and tours. If you had rather do a condo, there are a lot of those available as well on the lakes. Eat breakfast at The Pancake Shop, and visit The Savory Pantry next door--they're across from the Arlington. As far as restaurants, we like The Cajun Broiler for seafood, Angels for Italian, another place I can't remember right now that was further north up that road, and there are a couple I won't go back to (steak place and another Italian place). Lots of places I haven't tried yet. Oh yeah, McClard's BBQ is good too.

Location: Arkansas | I have heard really good things about Crystal Bridges museum in Bentonville. Not sure what else there is in the area but I would think there would be lots to do in the NW AR area |
