Location: Never in one place long | We have a 2014 F150 and a 2008 SUndowner... the auxiliary lights aren't working, we've tried checking everything we know how... all the other lights work just fine and when we hook the trailer up to another truck they work just fine... we bought the truck brand new and the lights have never worked since we bought it. Any experts out there have advice? I'm thinking we need to take it to the dealer since it's warranteed? |

yeah, it's really strange... I guess I should just bring it in and let them deal with it! |

| Have you looked for a blown fuse? If that isn't it I would start by testing the plug on the truck with a tester. You can hook up a wire to a battery charger to see which spot on the trailer plug is the aux. lights then you will know which one on the truck to work on. |

THIS! Battery charger or a jump box... Connect the clamps to thin wires and chart checking. |

If the other lights work, the ground is adequate. |

Then if you haven't taken it into a shop, that would be the next step! If it's never worked from day one, you may need to "add wiring" to your truck. I've heard of some trucks needing to add a wire, or fuse, or battery specifically for those auxillary lights. I'm not a mechanic or electrician so I can't give you any technical terms, but I do not that some trucks need some things added to make all the trailer lights work! |

| One thing you can do is use a tester and compare trucks and see where the short is in the truck that the lights don't work on |

WAIT!!! You checked all the sockets with a battery charger and they didn't come on, but when you hook to another truck they do? You didn't check right. The ground clamp has to be connected to the ground wire on the trailer or the trailer itself before you poke the hot lead into each socket. |
