Is the BAL test a fairly new test for bleeders? Do you need to go to an equine specialist vet or can or should any equine vet be able to perform this procedure? I live in South Central Kansas and didn't know if any vets around here were doing this. Thanks for any information!

No, it's not new.
Last one I had done was 7 years ago.
Technical term is, Bronchoalveolar Lavage and any performance vet should be able to help you.
