Psalm 88:1-9 Oh God, of my salvation , I have cried out day and night before You. Let my prayer come before You; Incline Yôur ear to my cry. For my soul is full of troubles, and my life draws near the grave. I am counted with those who go down the pit; I am like a man who has no strength, adrift among the dead, like the slain who lie in the grave, Whom You remember no more, and who are cut off from Yôur hand. You have laid me in the lowest pit, in darkness, in the depths. Your wrath lies heavy upon me, and You have afflicted me with all Yôur waves.
Have you ever cried your eyes out? The writer of this psalm speaks of co to URL tears that lead to painful eyes. What could make a person cry so much, have so much despair?
Theologians believe this individual in Psalm 88 suffered from leprosy since childhood. Day and night ailment caused, physical , emotional, relational, and even spiritual suffering. He was discouraged , hurting, weak and lonely. His prayer makes this one of the saddest psalms in all of Scriptures. Yet, in the midst of his painful circumstances, he contently and persistently cried out to God.
God's Word never promises freedom from life's trials , " the pit".v 4
In fact, the Bible is full of examples of God fearing individuals who declare His goodness and TRUST His presence in site of their difficulties. Just think, this may have been the one psalm prayed by Jesus in the midst of His suffering.
As you end this week, take a moment to ponder the different types of difficulty you have encountered. God's Word guarantees we will face various kinds of trials. Will your would be full of troubles? Will you lose strength? Will your acquaintances seem far away from you? Any and all of these things could happen.
Determine to DECLARE God's sovereignty REGARDLESS of the situations you face, God is still the God of your salvation, even in your sorrows. He is GOD! Cry if you must, but in the midst of your tears, REMEMBER to ALWAYS cry out to God. He WILL be present with you in your pain, even in the deepest m darkest pits of life.
Prayer may not always change your circumstances, but prayer will definitely change you!!
The enemy wouldn't be working so hard if he didnt know you were about to step up to a new level. Don't be discouraged by the burden you wouldn't have opposition if you weren't highly favored.
I LOVE LOVE THIS!!
As tears roll down my face this morning, I feel God's presence. I have anxiety this morning, taking my dad to dr. It's an ordeal to take him out of the house. I am also trying to get ready to leave this afternoon go to rose palace barrel race. My niece and other sister Donna going take care of my parents this weekend.
Proverbs 3:5-6 TRUST in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.
God's vast wisdom will be revealed to bless your life and help you cope with everyday circumstances.
For it is WITH God all things are possible.
Have a BLESSED Thursday!
Father God guide me today to do all things that bring glory and honor to You Amen
