| I have a Kennsington fly sheet on my mare, which I like better than the Kool Coat I had for her last year, but it is rubbing her on her chest. Is there anything I can do? I thought about using the run-down patches like they use on the track - I think mole skin and sticking them to the blanket and not her. I wonder if that would work?? Where would I find them? |

Location: Kansas | Are you sure it fits correctly? I was always told, shoulder rub marks means doesn't fit somewhere.

Location: Canada | A client of mine had a horse that no matter what sheet she put on her (or size) it rubbed a spot on her chest. We finally just put a shoulder guard on her which protected the hair from being rubbed.
To clarify the blanket was not rubbing and breaking skin or making the skin raw, it just rubbed and broke the hair off so she always had this patch of short hairs on her chest.

This is what's happening as a smaller blanket would be too small and a larger would be too big. It's not making her raw, just rubbing the hair off. When you say a shoulder guard are you talking like a "sleezy?" That would probably work but would it get too hot? |

Yeah the cool coat rubbed her but on her withers - NOT good. At least this one is just rubbing her shoulder. |
