Veteran Posts: 268	Just looking for experiences with this. I am considering it for a mare I ride that has very strong heat cycles. She has a "trail" all down her legs when cycling and will pee and wink even when I ride her.. TIA

Winner winner chicken dinner Posts: 2047 Location: California	I would say definitely try it and if it doesn't help you can use an injectable Regumate (called Altrenogest) which should definitely do the trick. I went straight to the Altrenogest and love it. The Depo is a lot cheaper from what I hear but I am way to scared to take her off the Altrenogest and try it when the Altrenogest has been a life saver!

Extreme Veteran Posts: 338 Location: NE TX	My mare is on it and has been since January. Our winter here was weak and she came in heat in December and I said that's ENOUGH! She is much better, she still "comes in" but she's not peeing on EVERYTHING and is a lot easier to handle and ride. There was a stud that apparently lives close to me that got loose a week ago and teased her through the fence for a while and she did pee on him and back up to the fence, but I rinsed it off and later that day she was back to "normal".
