I have a gelding that sweats a lot in the summer. I want to offer him electrolytes so I was wondering what electrolytes y'all use.

Salt Salt Salt - horses don't need the excess sugar and other minerals that many electrolytes have unless they are pouring sweat like a race horse or a grand prix jumper. 1-3oz of iodized table salt will do the trick!

THE doesn't have sugars or fillers. And there are a few others that are straying from using sugars as well.

I like to use THElectrolyte syringe as well as the powder. My horse doesn't seem to mind the syringe, infact she readily takes it. I like that they don't use sugars or fillers and that fact that the liquid version gets absorbed faster in the body. I definitely can see my horse perk up.

I love the BlueLite pellets by TechMix and have used them summer and winter as needed to keep them drinking for about four years now.

After the first time they realize it isn't dewormer, mine are great about slurping it down. It is really convienent at shows and then I use the powder at home

I dose my horse with different THE products without putting a halter on him. He just stands there and lets me dose him.

I just feed stock salt. You probably are getting enough other electrolytes from your feed program, except for salt. We have found many stalled horses will eat too much salt, drinking and urinating excessively. Therefore we give white salt in their feed. If you have one that sweats excessively, you might try adding DMG powder to his diet. If the sweating is caused from poor oxygen utilization, I believe that will help. I am not sure whether an underlying health issue could be causing this or not.

We give 1/4 cup of salt daily. You may need increase that, up to double, for a heavy sweater in hot and working environment.

My husband an I take the THE Electrolyte that you mix in a gallon of water. It's pretty amazing how it can make you feel so much better. We had tried many other electrolytes and nothing compares to the THE.
