| Depends on the price, what the plan is for the horse. I bought a young one for $4500, just did basic vet check, no films. Bought one recently that cost a whole lot more plus I had absolutely fallen in love with him, I knew we would be a good match. I plan on him being my main horse for a long time, shot film of joints, feet, etc. |

| Depends on price, age, what I'm planning to do with them etc.
I just bought a two year old DTF and just did basic flex tests and X-rays of all major joints. |

Location: KS | I'm going to go look at a 15 year old mare. I plan on starting her on the pattern. She was used for cows. Her price is in the $1,000 range. |

| If the horse cost less than the vet check I usually just visually check them over. Lunge them in small circles or trot on hard ground will usually show if they are a little off etc. |

| Yes, if the horse cost less than a vet check, I usually pass on it. If you are buying a 15 year old horse you are going to get the normal issues that go along with an older horse that can require expensive maintenance. Arthritis, insulin resistance, Cushings |
